Education & School Resources

Empowering the Next Generation Through Education
At Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB), electrical safety is one of our top priorities—for both our employees and our community. As part of our commitment to supporting education, KPUB proudly offers a variety of free educational resources and programs for teachers and schools within our service area.
These offerings are designed to enhance safety awareness, support STEM education, and promote energy literacy among students of all ages.

Arc & Spark Electrical Safety Demonstrations
Our Arc & Spark Demonstrations bring electrical safety to life through a powerful, interactive experience. These presentations show students how electricity works and how to stay safe around electrical equipment.
Details:
- Approximately 20 minutes in length
- Multiple sessions can be scheduled on the same day
- Must be hosted outdoors in a secure, contained space
- A KPUB site inspection is required in advance to assess electrical needs
- Ideally suited for 3rd-grade audiences, but adaptable as needed
Monster Detective Collective (Grades 1st–5th)
This monster-themed energy education presentation is tailored specifically for students in 1st grade through 5th grade. Through fun, imaginative storytelling and age-appropriate visuals, students become “Monster Detectives” as they learn how to track down energy waste and practice safe habits at home and school.
This program encourages early learning in energy conservation and safety in a format that young students find highly engaging.
Custom Educational & Career Presentations
KPUB also provides classroom presentations customized to your needs—covering topics such as electrical safety, energy efficiency, and careers in the utility industry. Presentations can be tailored by grade level, subject matter, and duration.
Invite a KPUB Classroom Reader
Looking to promote reading and energy awareness at the same time? You can request a KPUB team member to visit your classroom as a guest reader. We bring along special energy-themed children’s books and love sharing stories that spark curiosity, inspire conservation, and reinforce safety in an age-appropriate way.
Solar Education Support
KPUB has sponsored solar demonstration arrays at Tivy, Ingram, and Hunt schools, providing students and teachers with direct access to renewable energy learning tools. KPUB offers support and materials to help educators integrate solar energy education into their lesson plans.
STEM Education & Energy-Related Grants
KPUB offers small grants to support STEM learning and energy-related curriculum projects. These funds help educators enhance classroom learning through hands-on activities, experiments, and innovative lessons that promote science and energy literacy.
Community Shade Tree Grants
Schools, service organizations, and nonprofits can apply for grants of up to $500 to support tree planting efforts. This program encourages sustainability and supports beautification projects within our communities.
