April 9, 2025— As a community-owned utility company, the Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) remains committed to investing in the future of our youth by supporting educational advancement. Since 2013, KPUB has proudly awarded more than $130,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in our service area, helping turn their college aspirations into reality.
This year, KPUB received a record-breaking number of undergraduate scholarship applications—the highest in the history of the program. Each application was reviewed anonymously and scored by KPUB’s Scholarship Selection Committee based on academic achievement, financial need, school involvement, work history, community service, and a personal essay.
KPUB is proud to announce the 2025 scholarship recipients:
- Bo Hardy, Ingram Tom Moore High School
- Abigail Anson, Tivy High School
- Weston Merritt, Ingram Tom Moore High School
Bo and Abigail will each receive KPUB’s undergraduate scholarship, valued at $1,500 per year and renewable for up to four years, totaling $6,000. Bo has been accepted to Texas Tech University, where he plans to major in Agribusiness and pursue a career in Agricultural Real Estate. His sister, Nicole Hardy, was also a KPUB scholarship recipient in 2022 and is now a senior at Schreiner University, majoring in Marketing.
Abigail will attend Tarleton State University, majoring in Nursing with a goal of specializing in Pediatric Oncology.
Weston Merritt is the recipient of KPUB’s trade and technical school scholarship, valued at $2,000 over two years. He has been accepted to Texas State Technical College in Waco, where he will major in Automotive Technology.
