KPUB Stands with Our Community During Flood Recovery

Following the devastating flooding that struck the Texas Hill Country and deeply impacted many within our service area, Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) immediately responded to support our neighbors during this time of crisis.

We know that many families have lost homes, businesses have been disrupted, and lives have been forever changed. From the beginning of this disaster, KPUB has been committed to doing everything possible to stand by our community throughout the recovery process.

How We’re Supporting You

Suspension of Disconnects

In direct response to the flooding, KPUB has temporarily suspended disconnections for non-payment to ensure that no customer loses access to electricity during this critical time.

Disconnects for non-payment will resume starting August 20, 2025, and will apply to customers with scheduled disconnect dates on or after that day.

PrePay customers have also been temporarily protected from disconnection. That suspension will be lifted on August 5, 2025, at which point accounts in arrears will again be subject to standard disconnection procedures.

If you’re struggling to pay your bill, we’re here to help. Please contact us—we’re committed to working with you on flexible payment arrangements to help you stay connected during this challenging time.

Waiver of Late Fees

We are temporarily waiving all late payment fees through August 8, 2025, to give our customers added financial flexibility while they focus on recovering and rebuilding.

Waiver of Account Fees for Flood-Impacted Customers

For customers directly impacted by flood damage, KPUB is also waiving transfer fees and temporary power service fees. Whether you’re relocating, rebuilding, or in need of temporary power, we are committed to easing the process and removing unnecessary financial strain.

Customer Support

Our team is here to help—ranging from assistance with billing concerns, payment arrangements, temporary power connections, and community resources. We’re ready to answer your questions and support our community members however we can.

Utility Bill Payment Assistance Resources

While KPUB is not able to offer direct financial assistance for utility bills, we are committed to supporting our customers by connecting you with trusted community resources established specifically in response to the recent Hill Country Flood. Numerous organizations are offering emergency relief to help individuals, families, and businesses recover from the impact:

  • Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT): Providing emergency flood relief funding for residents in Kerr, Kendall, and Guadalupe Counties. Learn more.

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society: A KPUB partner through our Change for Charity program, offering utility bill payment assistance. They also have access to additional relief funds to support flood-impacted households. See details.

  • American Red Cross: Delivering financial assistance for residents affected by the Texas Hill Country floods. Access support.

  • Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce: Supporting business customers with utility bill assistance through its Rebuilding & Recovery Fund. More information.

  • Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country: Coordinating a major flood relief effort by distributing millions in donations to vetted local nonprofits that are providing direct assistance — including utility bill support — to individuals and families in communities like Kerrville, Center Point, Ingram, Hunt, Boerne, and Comfort. While individuals cannot apply directly through the Foundation, you may receive support by contacting one of the local nonprofits receiving these grants. Learn more or donate at www.communityfoundation.net.

We know recovery is ongoing, and KPUB will continue to update this page as we learn about additional assistance resources available to our customers and community.
