As a community-owned utility company, the Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) remains committed to investing in the future of local youth by supporting educational advancement.

This year marks the 14th year of KPUB’s scholarship program. Each application was scored by KPUB’s Scholarship Selection Committee based on academic achievement, financial need, school involvement, work history, community service, and a personal essay.

KPUB will award a total of $18,000 in scholarships this year to five graduating seniors, including both undergraduate and trade/technical school recipients.

KPUB is proud to announce the 2026 scholarship recipients:

• Paige Cowen, Tivy High School
• Tonantzi Prado, Tivy High School
• Luke Trevino, Tivy High School
• Hudson Huffman, Tivy High School
• Jesse Rose Jr., Tivy High School

Paige Cowen, a senior at Tivy High School, and Tonantzi Prado, also a senior at Tivy High School, are the recipients of KPUB’s undergraduate scholarships, valued at $1,500 per year and renewable for up to four years, totaling $6,000 each. Paige has been accepted to Texas A&M University, where she plans to major in Statistics. Tonantzi will attend Angelo State University, where she will major in Nursing.

The trade and technical school scholarships, valued at $1,000 per year and renewable for up to two years, have been awarded to Luke Trevino, Hudson Huffman, and Jesse Rose Jr., all seniors at Tivy High School. Luke plans to attend Texas State Technical College to study electrical linework. Hudson will also attend Texas State Technical College, majoring in automotive technology. Jesse will attend the TEEX Fire Academy to pursue a career as a firefighter.
