KPUB is inviting the community to attend its upcoming Bingo Community Energy-Saving Event on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Doyle Community Center. This free, come-and-go event is designed to help residents lower their energy bills while enjoying a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with food, music, and prizes.

Hosted in partnership with the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), the event will give attendees the opportunity to learn about energy-saving programs, electric bill discounts, and home efficiency improvements. KPUB and AACOG representatives will be onsite to provide information and assist income-qualifying households with applying for 100% free weatherization services, which may include upgrades such as insulation, HVAC improvements, and air sealing to help reduce long-term energy costs.

In addition to valuable resources, the event will feature free lunch, bingo, and live music beginning at noon, creating a welcoming environment for the community to gather and connect. Attendees will receive free giveaways while supplies last, including LED light bulbs and box fans, and will also have the opportunity to be entered into a drawing for a smart thermostat package.

Residents interested in applying for weatherization assistance are encouraged to bring a recent utility bill, proof of income, and identification for all household members. The event will take place at the Doyle Community Center, located at 110 W. Barnett Street in Kerrville.

“At KPUB, we encourage our customers to save energy and money by making their homes as efficient as possible, especially ahead of the high summer temperatures,” said Allison Bueche, KPUB’s Director of Customer and Community Relations. “This event is also about education—helping customers understand simple steps they can take to weatherize their homes and avoid higher bills. By partnering with AACOG, we’re able to connect our community with free resources and programs that can make a real difference.”
