Outage Update, 12:45 p.m.
Our crews continue making steady progress restoring power across our service area. Approximately 1,795 of our customers are still experiencing an outage. Below are updates on some of our larger outages, which are prioritized to restore service to the greatest number of customers as quickly as possible.
- Canyon Springs: Power has been restored.
- Riverhill: Power has been partially restored. Crews remain on-site and are actively working to restore service to the remaining affected customers.
- Center Point Area: Crews are currently on-site working to restore power.
- Kerrville South Area: Crews are on-site and actively restoring service.
- Cade Loop Area: Due to current conditions, crews are still unable to safely access this area.
These updates do not include every outage currently affecting our system. Our crews are responding to outages across the service area and will continue restoring power as conditions safely allow.
We are hopeful to restore power today wherever conditions permit. However, customers in flooded or otherwise inaccessible areas should be prepared for extended outages, particularly if floodwaters remain high or additional damage is discovered.
To help expedite restoration efforts, outside utility personnel have joined our response through mutual aid, working alongside KPUB crews to safely restore power as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as KPUB crews and our mutual aid partners continue working around the clock to restore service to our community safely and efficiently.
We will provide additional updates as they become available.
Update: 9:30 a.m.
Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) is actively responding to widespread power outages affecting approximately 2,643 customers across its service territory. The largest impacted areas include Kerrville South, Center Point, and Ingram/Hunt.
Restoration Efforts Underway
KPUB crews are actively restoring power in areas that can be safely accessed. However, some locations remain unreachable due to active flooding and hazardous road conditions.
KPUB has also confirmed that the crossings at two river locations are down. These crossings are currently flooded, making access unsafe and preventing crews from completing damage assessments until conditions improve.
Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible under extremely challenging weather and access conditions. Restoration efforts will continue in accessible areas, and work in currently inaccessible locations will begin as soon as it is safe to do so.
Customers in flooded or otherwise inaccessible areas should expect longer restoration times. We understand the impact these outages have on our customers and appreciate your patience as we work to restore service as quickly as conditions allow.
Mutual Aid Assisting Restoration
To accelerate restoration efforts, KPUB has called in mutual aid crews to assist. Together, KPUB employees and mutual aid personnel are working around the clock to safely restore power throughout the service territory.
