KPUB Breaks Ground on New Power Generation Plant

Construction is officially underway on our 122 MW natural gas-fired reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) plant. The project was selected for the Texas Energy Fund—a low-interest loan program designed to incentivize new dispatchable generation for the Texas’ grid. This project will help protect our customers from market volatility and support more stable rates over the long term.

KPUB Community Report

2025 was a year of highs and lows. From making history as the first Texas Energy Fund loan recipient to powering through the Hill Country Flood, KPUB kept rates low, the lights on reliably, and proudly supported our community every step of the way.
