The Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) has been honored with multiple awards from the American Public Power Association (APPA) during its National Customer Connections Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky, from October 27-30, 2024.

KPUB received the Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award at the silver level for the second consecutive year, recognizing the utility’s commitment to providing excellent service in the Kerrville area. Award winners are selected at gold, silver, and bronze levels based on customer survey responses, with those honored setting the highest standards in the industry for engaging, communicating, and addressing customer needs.

KPUB is among only 20 utilities nationwide to receive this prestigious recognition. The silver-level Customer Satisfaction Award is granted to utilities that achieve average customer ratings exceeding 90% in key areas such as customer service, field personnel, communication, reliability, value, outage response, innovation, and overall satisfaction.

Additionally, KPUB was recognized as a Smart Energy Provider for the first time. This three-year designation highlights the utility’s advancements in offering innovative energy-efficient programs and solutions to help customers save energy.

“As a community-owned utility, providing outstanding service and helping our customers save energy and money are top priorities,” said Mike Wittler, KPUB General Manager & CEO. “It’s an honor to be recognized as leaders in our industry in these key areas.”

KPUB Key Accounts & Energy Education Specialist, DJ Owens, was also recognized for successfully completing his Key Accounts Certificate Program with APPA during the conference. This program equips him with additional tools to provide exceptional service to the utility’s large commercial customers.
