November 28, 2023—The Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) has been recognized by the American Public Power Association (APPA) for multiple awards at its National Customer Connections Conference in San Antonio, Texas, November 13-15, 2023.

The utility was awarded the Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award for providing excellent service to its customers in the Kerrville area. Winners of Public Power Customer Satisfaction Awards are chosen at gold, silver, and bronze levels based on responses to customer surveys and are recognized for setting the highest bar in the industry in terms of engaging, communicating and servicing their customers’ needs.

KPUB is one of just nine utilities that received this prestigious award across the nation. The silver-level Customer Satisfaction Award is the result of receiving average ratings greater than 90% from customers in the areas of: customer service, field personnel, communication, reliability, value, outage response, innovation, and overall satisfaction.

“This is a testament to the efforts that all of our employees at KPUB put forth. We have a very dedicated and outstanding team here at KPUB, from the office to the field,” said Mike Wittler, KPUB General Manager & CEO. “To be recognized by our customers for our commitment to providing excellent service is extremely gratifying.”

The Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) was also recognized by the American Public Power Association (APPA) as the recipient of a national award for its public power communications for the fourth year in a row.

KPUB was honored with two of APPA’s Excellence in Public Power Communications awards in the social media and video categories. The campaigns were holiday-themed and included a video co-produced by KerrvillePhoto.com, which highlighted the work KPUB’s linemen do to keep the Kerrville area bright each Christmas.

The entries are judged in three categories: print & digital, web & social media, and video. Awards were given to those who showed ingenuity and creativity in telling their stories through outstanding copy, design, financial data presentation, graphics, social media engagement, video editing, web layout, and interactivity.

Of the more than 2,000 not-for-profit public power utilities across the nation, only 67 earned this prestigious award from APPA, with just six of them being Texas utilities. To learn more, visit APPA’s website at publicpower.org.
